On September 1st, Tashana Brown broke ground for her new home in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Alongside her was her daughter, Kaleyah, granddaughter, Kymani, and several Habitat board members. |

Tashana is excited about the process of partnering with Habitat in seeing her house being built. When asked what she thought about helping to build the house her reply was “Well, this is going to be my very first time working on building a home. I plan on putting all my hard work and time into building this home for me and my family. I plan on learning a lot so I can help others in the near future!” In talking about how her life and future will be different through this home build, Tashana said, “My life will be a lot different because I will have something to leave to my kids and grandkids in the future.” She continued, “My house will be well-taken care and I want it to be built with love and care because home is where the heart is!” Stay tuned for more news relating to this house build and when we will be needing volunteers to help raise the walls!
