Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Tennessee
Building Homes and Hope in Dyer County, TN since 1993
Building Homes, Building Hope
Habitat helps individuals and families buy safe, affordable homes with a 0% interest mortgage. If you are willing to invest time and savings, we're here to help support you.
If you meet three guidelines, you may be eligible for a Habitat home.

Home Ownership
Habitat doesn't just give away houses; Habitat homeowners must go through a Partnership Program that is designed to help them become financially stable.

Income Guidelines
Every potential Habitat Homeowner must be able to meet our minimum and maximum income guidelines as well as pass a credit check.
Partnership
Every potential Habitat Homeowner must be willing to partner with Habitat by providing "sweat equity" hours as well as participate in Homeowner Education classes.
Have A Need
Every potential Habitat Homeowner must be able to prove that they have a need. This need could be substandard housing, overcrowding, rent more than 30% of income, and cannot get financing through traditional means.
Habitat Houses

Habitat houses are modestly-sized. They are large enough for the homeowner family’s needs, but small enough to keep construction and maintenance costs to a minimum.
Habitat for Humanity uses quality, locally-available building materials. Habitat house designs reflect the local climate and culture.
The labor of volunteers and partner families, efficient building methods, modest house sizes and 0% interest loans make it affordable for low-income families to purchase Habitat houses.
